Find Out How Plainfield Runners Fared at Chicago Marathon

Congrats to all of the local runners who completed the 26.2-mile race on Sunday!

 Plainfield runners fared well at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday.

Sam Chwalek was the first Plainfield resident to finish the 26.2-mile race in Chicago Sunday, according to unofficial results posted on the Chicago Marathon website. He crossed the finish line with a time of 3:12.48. Caitlin Foster was the first female Plainfield resident to complete the marathon. She finished with an unofficial time of 3:25.33.

Meanwhile, Dickson Chumba, 28, of Kenya, was the overall winner of the race with an unofficial time of 2:09:25, according to Runner’s World. Florence Kiplagat, 28, also from Kenya, won the woman’s race with an unofficial time of 2:23.33, according to WGN TV. Each of the winners will receive $10,000.
