Fireworks Sold In Illinois That Can 'Explode Unexpectedly' Recalled
Three people have suffered burns from the fireworks.

Fireworks sold at major retailers in Illinois have been recalled because they can "explode unexpectedly when lit," resulting in injuries to three people. American Promotional Events announced the recall of its TNT Red, White, & Blue Smoke fireworks this week, saying consumers should immediately stop using the fireworks and call the company for a full refund.
The fireworks were sold at Albertsons, Kroger, Meijer, Target, Walmart and other retailers in Illinois, Ohio, Vermont and Wisconsin from May 2017 through June 2017 for about $5, according to the recall notice. American Promotional Events said it has received reports of three people suffering burns from the fireworks. No property damage has been reported.
The fireworks, which are supposed to make smoke when lit, were sold in a bag containing three canisters: one red, one blue and one white. Each colored smoke firework is a cardboard cylinder tube that measures about 1 inch in diameter and 5 inches long. The TNT logo, “Red, White & Blue Smoke” and UPC number 027736036561 appear on the packaging.
