PLAINFIELD, Il — Kudos to District 202 for a successful event! The community formed a line for a chance to purchase surplus laptop and desktop computers, projectors, and related hardware accessories on Saturday, Aug. 11, at Freedom Elementary School, 11600 Heritage Meadow Drive, Plainfield.

Individuals young and old waited in line. Some were purchasing computers for their children who are students of PSD202. Some were purchasing computers for their children going off to college. There were a few purchasing for their business. One grandparent took advantage of the sale to purchase Christmas gifts for her grandchildren. All walks of life were excited about the "deal of the day" PSD202 offered for its computer surplus.

Volunteers of PSD202 and Plainfield Police were on hand to assist individuals with filling out purchasing paperwork. This process was very efficient and took no time to complete. Once paperwork was completed, individuals could pay for items either by cash or credit card. Again, PSD202 made this process efficient with out a long wait.

After individuals paid for their items, they were able to enter the gymnasium to pickup items. This process functioned in an organized manner; the gymnasium was divided into five sections: laptops, projectors, docking stations, keyboards/mouse, and monitors. District Technology staff were on hand to answer tech questions and address concerns. Lines were longer as expected, but worth the time.

Once purchases were made and items picked up, purchases were scanned at checkout. This process will help PSD202 track items purchased and keep a log in case an item should be returned for any reason.

There is a 14-day return clause for items purchased. Based on the clause, "in order to return, exchange or obtain a refund, an individual must be the original buyer whose name is on the receipt at the time of purchase." Please contact PSD202 Technology Office by calling (815) 439-4567 to schedule an appointment to return any item you purchased. The district will do its best to replace the item purchased or reimburse the amount paid.
