Fish Fry 2026: Where To Find Lenten Meals Near Plainfield
Observing Lent or looking for a nice seafood meal? Here are some local fish fry events taking place Fridays through April.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Lent has begun, and with it comes the tradition of Friday fish fries.
There are several groups around town serving up delicious fried fish every Friday during the Lenten season. This year, Easter falls on Sunday, April 5.
Whether you're an observing Christian or just a local foodie looking for a good seafood dinner, Patch has compiled a list of nearby events.

St. Mary Immaculate Parish, 15629 S. Route 59, Plainfield
- Dine-in and carry-out will be served from 4-7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 27; March 6, 13, 20 and 27.
- Menu and prices can be found on the church's website.
- Carry-out orders can be placed by calling 815-577-6673 between 4-7 p.m. on fish fry dates. Orders must be picked up by 7:30 p.m.
Plainfield Moose Lodge 2491, 16310 S. Lincoln Highway

- Taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent. Open to the public.

Ashbury's at Boughton Ridge, 335 E. Boughton Road in Bolingbrook
- All-you-can-eat fish fry takes place from open to close every Friday.
- Fish costs $20, and fish and shrimp is $23. The restaurant also holds specials on draft beers.
Queen of Apostles Catholic School, 131 Woodlawn Ave. in Joliet
- Takes place from 4-7 p.m. every Friday through Good Friday
- Menu includes catfish, cod, shrimp and chicken tenders. All fish and shrimp dinners include a choice of potato, coleslaw and bread. Prices vary.
- Cash and credit are accepted. Seniors can get a $2 discount on all dinners. Proceeds benefit the school's athletic association.
The Bluffs, 24355 W. Bluff Road in Channahon
- Planned from 4-9 p.m. every Friday through April 10. Reservations are highly encouraged and can be made by calling 815-521-2499 up to one week in advance.
- Carry-out is available by calling 815-521-2499.
- Fish-based lunch specials will be available from noon to 4 p.m. Fridays.
Lincoln-Way East High School, 201 Colorado Ave. in Frankfort
- The music department's annual fish fry days are scheduled from 5-7:30 p.m. Feb. 27, March 6 and March 20.
- Musical performances are planned with each fish fry.
Cantigny Post 367, 826 Horseshoe Drive in Joliet
- Dinner is served from 4-7 p.m. every Friday — or until there is no fish left.
- Menu includes breaded cod, walleye, catfish or shrimp as well as baked cod and chicken strips. Each meal comes with several sides.
- Carry-out is available by calling 815-722-5398.
Knights of Columbus, 100 S. 129th Infantry Drive in Joliet
- Fish is fried from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday.
