Food For Fines At Plainfield Library

Donate a non-perishable item and $5 in fines will be forgiven.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Food for Fines is back at the Plainfield Public Library, 15025 S. Illinois St. Here's how it works: Donate a non-perishable item between Sept. 10 and 15 and get $5 off your fines per day (lost or damaged items not applicable).

The food will benefit Bags of Hope, a private backpack food program, the Green Harvest Food Pantry, the Plainfield Area Interfaith Food Pantry and the St. John Lutheran Church Food Pantry.

The food pantries would appreciate donations of: oatmeal/cereal; canned chicken and tuna; peanut butter and jelly; pasta and pasta sauce; flour/sugar; rice; canned fruits and vegetables; soups/ramen; macaroni & cheese; condiments; and boxed potatoes.
