Former Plainfield Students Spread Easter Cheer
Plainfield South alums head out to do good deeds.
How far would you go to put a smile on someone's face?
A group of Plainfield natives headed to the windy city last weekend with only one goal in mind: To make people happy.
Ryan Harpole, Tim Zapp, Miranda Herbel and Brandon Muthard — all former Plainfield South students — decided to spread some Easter cheer, and they filmed it all for their YouTube channel.
"Tim Zapp and I are really big enthusiasts of YouTube," Harpole explained, saying they love to watch videos of people being silly, all for the sake of making others smile. "We figured, why don't we just do this?"
Harpole said he got ahold of an Easter bunny costume, and the friends came up with a plan. On Saturday, after filling plastic eggs with money and chocolates, the four friends headed to Chicago, where the costume-clad Harpole surprised passers-by.
"Every person who got an egg was super happy and excited," he said. Twenty of the eggs contained $5 bills, while four contained $10 bills.
Many people just wanted the group to stop so they could take photos with the Easter bunny.
"We got a couple weird looks," Harpole said, but "most people were excited."
After returning home, Harpole said they edited the video and posted it to their brand-new YouTube channel, Cloudn9nefilms.
Despite it being their first video, the clip has already gained them a small following. So far, more than 500 people have watched the video.
"It makes us happy to see everyone happy," Harpole said. The group plans to continue posting clips of them doing good deeds.
"We're just going to keep going with it."
