Frank's Night Out to Offer Horrifying Culinary Creations in October

For the second year in a row, Frank’s Night Out will be offering a Halloween-themed menu throughout the month of October, which include real creepy crawlies.

Among the dishes offered will be a scorpion hot dog and a zombie dog, which comes with fried crickets.
Frank’s owner Marcus Mooney said last year they sold out of the scorpions for a brief period, which the business gets from Thailand.

“It’s a novelty item and people have a really good reaction to it. It’s kind of cool because it goes with the Halloween theme,” Mooney said.
Not everyone is on board with eating crickets and scorpions and Mooney said there have been some people who are grossed out by it, but there are plenty of customers who are willing to try it.
“Because they’re dry and crispy, you find that fewer people are grossed out by them,” he said. “You definitely get people who are like, ‘No way am I ever going to eat that,’ but there are a lot of adventurous people who come out to try them.”
In addition to crickets and scorpions, adventurous foodies can also get fried veal brains and pig skins.
“We’re incorporating a lot of stuff that people shy away from,” Mooney said. “But that’s kind of what our whole concept is — to bring something a little different and extravagant or a little crazy and put it on a hot dog,” Mooney said.
Frank’s Night Out is located at 12337 Rt. 59 in Plainfield. Below is the menu of what Frank’s will be offering throughout October. The Scorpion and Zombie dog will be offered throughout the month, but the rest of the menu will be featured on a rotating basis.
