Free Car Seat Safety Check Set For Plainfield
The Plainfield Child Passenger Safety Team will host the event.

PLAINFIELD, IL — From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, the Plainfield Child Passenger Safety Team will host its annual car seat safety check event as part of the National Seat Check Saturday initiative. The free event will take place at Plainfield Fire Station #1 at the corner of Van Dyke Rd and 143rd Street.
Certified technicians will be on hand to inspect car seats and booster seats for correct use and installation, and replacement seats will be on hand.

"Car crashes remain the number one killer of kids...don't let yours become a statistic," Plainfield police said on Facebook. "Our most recent events show that fewer than 20 percent of parents are doing everything correctly when over 90 percent of them think they do."
