Free Health Screenings Made Possible Through Library, VNA Partner

The Plainfield Public Library District and VNA Health Care are launching an exciting partnership.

The Plainfield Public Library District and VNA Health Care are launching an exciting partnership to help serve the healthcare needs of the Plainfield community. On five occasions over the next three months, the VNA Health Care Mobile Van will be parked outside the Library, 15025 S. Illinois St., to offer free health screenings. The screenings are available from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Sept. 18, Sept. 29, Oct. 16, Nov. 3 and Nov. 20.

The screenings being offered include blood pressure, diabetes and body mass index readings. Please be advised, diabetes screenings require fasting for a minimum of eight hours prior to the screening. Medicaid application assistance will also be available.

“At the Library, we are always looking for new ways in which we can serve the Plainfield community,” said Head of Reference and Reader Services Kara Kohn. “This partnership with VNA is a natural fit. We have the perfect location, and they have the trained staff and resources.”
