Gas N Wash Under Construction in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD, IL — Have you been wondering what’s being built at the corner of Drauden and Route 126? Well, we’ve figured it out for you.

According to Plainfield Director of Planning Jonathan Proulx, the answer is a Gas N Wash, which, as you may have already guessed, will be a gas station and car wash combination. A food service operator will also be in the building, but Proulx was unsure which one.

“I don’t know if it’s going to be Dunkin’ Donuts or something else. It’s going to be more than just your standard convenience store.”

Assuming everything goes smoothly with construction, the store could open later in the fall or by the end of the year at the latest, Proulx said.

“I think it’s a great project,” he said. “It provides access to goods and services to an area that’s currently underserved. There’s not a lot out there in the way of access to gas or things that a convenience store has.”
