Giants Look To Continue Dominance At JerryWorld

Intriguing Game- Week 1

Giants at Cowboys

Giants: With the New York Giants, we never know what to expect from them. They always get off to a very hot start then they cool down at key moments during the season. Last year, Eli wasn’t the same guy we saw in 2011. He was very inconsistent at times. This off-season, Victor Cruz got the contract extension he had been hoping for. Six years and $46 Million to remain with big blue. As a defense, I like the duo of Justin Tuck and Jason Pierre-Paul. I still think this front four could remain one of the very best if they continue to put pressure on the quarterback. The weakness of this unit though is this secondary. They give up many big plays, blow many coverages and have no communication back there. They start off 2013 exactly like they did the 2012 season by facing the Cowboys on Sunday night.

Cowboys: The Cowboys are what I call a “stock exchange” football team. One week they’re up and the following week they’re down. If they can put together some consistency, they can be a very good football team and live up to the expectations people make for them every season. Tony received a contract extension. I’ve been very vocal about this. I’m not saying he’s not a good quarterback but to give a guy $108 Million over six years is a little luidcrous if you ask me. He’s only won two division titles and one playoff game as the Cowboys quarterback. When I look at this Cowboys offense, DeMarco Murray will be a key guy for them this season. If he can stay healthy, he will give them the balance they need and that will take tons of pressure off Tony because he can’t throw the ball fifty to sixty times a game. Sunday night starts a new season against a key rival.

Prediction: Whenever these two teams play, it’s always a shoot-out. This game will be decided late in the fourth quarter and who has the football last. The Giants must establish David Wilson early to get him comfortable in this offense. The Cowboys must be physical with Victor Cruz. I like the Giants to get the W on Sunday night. Giants 35 Cowboys 31
