Give Blood, Help Save Lives In Plainfield
A community blood drive is set for Aug. 8 in Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Fire Protection District will host a community blood drive with Heartland Blood Centers from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the Fire District Administration and Training Facility, 23748 W. 135th St.
Blood donation is a lifesaver because someone in the United States needs donated human blood every two seconds and there is no artificial substitute for human blood. Blood that is collected goes to area hospitals to help those in need. One blood donation can help up to 3 people.
Anyone in good health, age 17 or older, is eligible to donate blood. Sixteen year olds can donate blood if they have written approval from a parent or guardian.
