Gov. Rauner Visits Plainfield Fest

Another Plainfield Fest is on the books.

PLAINFIELD, IL — That's a wrap on Plainfield Fest. The 37th annual fest held downtown, the event went on despite the threat of wet weather at times, capping off three days of fun, food, carnival rides and live music.

And one more thing: A visit by Gov. Bruce Rauner on Saturday. The governor, up for re-election this year, made a stop in downtown Plainfield during the festivities. Plainfield Fest organizers shared photos of the governor's visit on Facebook:

Also on the record books? The sixth annual best pizza contest at the fest. This year's winner? Vita Bella Pizza.
