ILLINOIS — October is synonymous with many things, including candy. If you didn’t get your Halloween candy on sale after last year’s festivities, now is the time to start stocking up for trick-or-treaters that will show up at your door on Oct. 31.
As for what type of candy you want to dole out, Illinois trick-or-treaters do appear to have a favorite.
CandyStore.com, a bulk candy delivering service, gathered 11 years of data to determine the three most popular Halloween candies in each state. The company says its results also depended on candy manufacturers and distributors to help verify its conclusions.

In Illinois, the most popular candy is Kit-Kat, a new winner for 2018. Coming in second was Sour Patch Kids and Snickers claimed the third spot, per CandyStore.com.
