Joliet Armed Robber Apprehended In Plainfield: Montgomery Police
After a high-speed pursuit, police stopped the car near downtown Plainfield and caught him after a brief foot chase, authorities said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A Joliet man accused of robbing a Montgomery retailer faces charges including armed robbery and aggravated fleeing after he was apprehended June 14 in Plainfield, officials said Wednesday.
Anthony S. Norton-Hernandez, 27, is currently being held in the Kendall County jail in lieu of $500,000 bail. To apply for bond, he must pay 10 percent, or $50,000.
Montgomery police responded at 4:31 p.m. to a business in the 1200 block of Ogden Avenue after a caller reported an armed robbery and provided officers with a description of both the suspect and vehicle.

Police found the car, occupied by two people, including one matching the description of the robber, along Route 30 in Plainfield. When officers tried conducting a stop, the driver fled "at a high rate of speed" before eventually coming to a stop near Wallin Drive and Ottawa Street, near downtown Plainfield, officials said.
A brief foot chase ensured before members of the Kendall County Cooperative Police Assistance Team apprehended Norton-Hernandez and the passenger.

Police said they determined the 27-year-old to be the offender once he was in custody but released him without charges.
The following day, the Kendall County State's Attorney's Office reviewed the case and authorized multiple charges against Norton-Hernandez.
The following charges are in addition to various misdemeanor and traffic offense charges, police said.
- One count of armed robbery
- One count of delivery of a controlled substance
- One count of burglary
- Three counts of unlawful possession of registration
- One count of retail theft
- One count of aggravated fleeing/attempt to elude a peace officer
Jail records list an address for Norton-Hernandez in the 2900 block of Avalon Avenue.
