Joliet Woman's Club Donates $14,000 to Plainfield Public Library

The donation will fund half of the cost of a new electronic sign on Route 59 at the entrance to the Library and Village's parking lot.

PLAINFIELD – The Joliet Woman’s Club donated $14,000 to the Plainfield Public Library District after Betty Reaska, club president, and Marilyn Plese, home fund chair, presented a check to the Library during a Board of Trustees meeting on Oct. 15.

The donation will fund half of the cost of a new electronic monument sign for the Library on Route 59 at the entrance to the Library and Village’s public parking lot. Library officials hope to have the sign installed within the next two months.

“This donation to the Library will provide a visible, impactful and lasting legacy by the Joliet Woman’s Club to the Plainfield community,” said Library Director Julie Milavec. “We are extremely grateful for the club’s generosity and philanthropy.”
