Juicehead Smoothies To Close Plainfield Doors, Focus On Yorkville Spot
Owners cited "sharing this space with a thriving event venue has become less and less feasible" as one of the reasons for the decision.

PLAINFIELD, IL — If you're a fan of Juicehead Smoothies & Coffee — or have been wanting to try it — mark your calendars because the downtown Plainfield spot's last day of business is April 16.
Owners announced Juicehead's closing Tuesday and said they share the news "with great sadness, but extreme hopefulness" because while this marks the business's end in Plainfield, the focus will go to growing the Yorkville location.
Juicehead, located inside event venue Sanctuary, at 24216 W. Lockport St., is operated by Minor Threat Restaurant Group, the same group that operates Sovereign in Plainfield and Crusade Burger Bar in Yorkville. The smoothie spot opened in October 2020, during the pandemic.

As for why Juicehead is closing, the company said, "sharing this space with a thriving event venue has become less and less feasible" as the world makes its transition into a post-COVID-19 world. Owners, sisters Megan and Lauren, said they explored moving to another location in Plainfield but "none ... have come to fruition."
Instead, the Juicehead team will shift its focus to the location in Yorkville, at 211 S. Bridge St., where the menu and store hours will be expanded. The plan, according to the announcement, is "making our concept even better [in Yorkville] until we find our perfect new home in Plainfield."

Owners also plan to add a small lunch menu and begin a juicing program — complete with offering juice subscriptions — "in the very near future" at the Yorkville spot.
"We will never forget those of you who have been loyal in supporting our dream, who have come together for the betterment of your mind, body and souls," owners wrote on Facebook. "We can’t wait to find a new space to share with you."
