Let It Glow Holiday Light Competition Registration Opens In November
The Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce is once again hosting the Let It Glow competition through Jan. 7, 2023.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield and Shorewood houses will once again compete for awards in this year's Let It Glow Competition.
Hosted by the Plainfield Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce, the annual competition encourages homeowners to deck their houses with lights, lawn ornaments, wreaths and more to bring holiday cheer to the neighborhood.
Registration opens Nov. 1, and participants have until Dec. 3 to register and Dec. 10 to decorate. The contest runs through Jan. 7, 2023.

By entering, homeowners will compete for one of three $100 cash prizes for categories including best in show, Clark Griswold (most lights) and people's choice.
Plainfield Mayor John Argoudelis and Shorewood Mayor Clarence DeBold will choose the best house in their respective villages. Sponsors of the competition will vote on houses for the Clark Griswold category, and the people's choice award will be determined by people who email the Chamber with their favorite.

Winners will be contacted, and their displays will be posted on social media, organizers said.
