Library to host Capital Dames Program on November 10

The community is invited to a historical program on Tuesday, November 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Plainfield Public Library, located at 15025 S. Illinois St. in downtown Plainfield.

Actress Jenny Riddle brings history to life with a dramatic portrayal of the women from Cokie Roberts’ best seller, Capital Dames: The Civil War and the Women of Washington, 1848-1868. You’ll be captivated by women like Dorthea Dix, Mary Todd Lincoln and Sojuourner Truth, who influenced the war and moved women further along the road to equality.
