Library to Host Showing of The Martian on May 6

The public is invited to a showing of the movie, “The Martian,” rated PG-13, on Friday, May 6 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Plainfield Public Library, located at 15025 S. Illinois St. in downtown Plainfield.

The movie is about astronaut Mark Watney, played by Matt Damon, who is left behind on the planet Mars, after he is presumed dead. With little supplies, Watney finds a way to survive on the planet as members of NASA work on a rescue mission to bring him home.
