Location of Political Fundraiser May be Moved
Tonia Khouri was set to hold a fundraiser at the Plainfield Township Community Center, but township policy may not let her.

The location of a political fundraiser is under some debate after it was learned it might be in violation of a Plainfield Township policy.
Congressional candidate Tonia Khouri was set to hold a fundraiser at the Plainfield Township Community Center from 3 to 4 p.m. Aug. 23. Plainfield Township Supervisor Tony Fremarek said the board realized the event would go against a township policy of holding political events on township property, according to The Herald-News.
“The fact that the park district didn’t have a policy around [not allowing political fundraisers in the center] caught us off guard,” Fremarek said, noting the township owns the building but the Plainfield Township Park District, another entity, manages the center’s rental policy.
