Lukancic MS Seeking Items for Care Packages for Troops

In recognition of Patriot Day (Sept. 11), Lukancic Middle School students have launched a drive to collect items to be included in care packages for U.S. troops overseas, according to a release from Valley View School District 365U.

Items needed for the care packages include Q-tips, cottonballs, Band-aids, peanut butter (small jar), hand sanitizer, shaving cream, Zip-lock bags, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Social Studies teachers will be collect the items by class. The Social Studies class that contributes the most items will receive a small party. Members of the community may drop off items at the school’s front office located at 725 Normantown Road in Romeoville.

The care packages will be accompanied by letters written by Lukancic students.

Lukancic will also observe Patriot Day with a back-to-school dance from 2:45 to 4:45 on Sept. 11.
