Man Threatens To Kill Cops, Throws Large Rock At Officer: Plainfield PD
The man, 32, was charged with aggravated assault after the incident at a Plainfield residence.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A Plainfield man was charged with aggravated assault March 30 after he threatened to kill officers and threw a landscaping rock at police, officials said.
Officers were called to a residence in the 25300 block of Government Lane for a report of a person experiencing a mental health crisis. The complainant told police a relative was having an "episode" and had walked away from home, Cmdr. Kevin McQuaid told Patch.
Shortly after, the relative, identified as 32-year-old James D. Guglielmo, returned to the residence and threatened to kill the responding officers, McQuaid said. When police attempted to de-escalate the situation, Guglielmo picked up a large landscaping rock and threw it at an officer.

As Guglielmo "aggressively" advanced toward police, one officer deployed a Taser, which was ineffective, according to McQuaid. Guglielmo continued to fight and resist, striking one officer in the face before he was ultimately taken into custody.
Guglielmo was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later charged with aggravated assault. The arrest was listed in Tuesday's police blotter.
