Mather Woods To Undergo Restoration: Plainfield Park District
The project is being done in an effort to restore the woodland to its native state, officials said.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Mather Woods, off Renwick Road, will undergo restoration beginning Tuesday, Plainfield Park District officials said.
Crews from ecological restoration companies Pizzo & Associates and Integrated Lakes Management are handling the project.
Workers will remove invasive species, cut down hazardous trees and burn brush piles in an effort to restore the woodland to its native state. The process also helps "make the woods safer while also providing a better habitat for wildlife," according to a Monday news release.
