The “Soon to Be Famous Illinois Author” contest aims to help publicize the works of Illinois self-published authors. Zienty, author of her book, “The Things We Save,” won the contest during its first run in 2014.
In “The Things We Save,” Zienty writes about a family’s painful history of struggles and loss. The book asks questions about the nature of love, the effects of envy and guilt, and the limits of forgiveness.
