Moody's Upgrades Plainfield's Bond Rating

New rating will save village money, officials said.

The Village of Plainfield on Monday announced that Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded the Village’s water and sewer bond ratings to Aa2 and Aa3.

The upgrades will mean a savings of $735,000 for Plainfield, the village said in a press release, adding, “This is the third upgrade in recent years and is a result of the village’s sound fiscal policies and practices.”

The boost came after the village weathered “financial difficulties associated with the recession,” officials said.
