Motorcyclist Airlifted After Route 59 Crash
A male motorcyclist collided with a vehicle just after 5 p.m. Saturday.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A motorcyclist was in critical condition after a crash with another vehicle at around 5:05 p.m. Saturday near Route 59 and Champion Drive. Police said the man, 48, was heading south on Route 59 when a woman driving a two-door sedan attempted to make a left turn on Champion and the two collided.
Plainfield Deputy Fire Chief Jon Stratton said the motorcyclist was airlifted to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove in critical condition. The woman refused treatment at the scene. Plainfield police said no citations have been issued yet and the crash remains under investigation. Officials said witnesses reported a second motorcycle in the area at the time of the crash, but was not on the scene when police arrived.

A section of Route 59 was closed for about an hour and a half after the crash, police said.
