Motorcyclist Thrown After Back-To-Back Crashes On Route 59: Plainfield Police
Two crashes happened within minutes of one another early Monday on Route 59.
PLAINFIELD, IL — A biker was thrown off a motorcycle Monday morning in one of two crashes that occurred back-to-back on Route 59, Plainfield police said.
Officers were called at about 5:30 a.m. to the street near Dunkin', 15719 S. Route 59, for a report of a crash between a Ford box truck and a Cadillac SUV. Police determined the truck was turning left out of the coffee shop parking lot when it failed to yield and hit the car as it crossed the inside northbound lane of Route 59, Administrative Sergeant Luke Ostreko told Patch.
The box truck moved to a nearby parking lot after the crash, and the disabled Cadillac remained where it had been hit.

As police were headed to the first crash, around 5:37 a.m., a Honda motorcycle driving north on Route 59 struck the unoccupied Cadillac SUV, sending the rider flying from the vehicle, Ostreko said.
The driver of the Cadillac was transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville with non-life-threatening injuries, while the motorcyclist was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital. The biker's injuries were serious, but he was in stable condition, Ostreko said.
