National Night Out In Plainfield: See What Free Activities Are Planned

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Police Department is hosting its annual National Night Out event Aug. 4 at Settlers' Park.

The nationwide event, which occurs annually on the first Tuesday of August, brings together communities with the goal of strengthening relationships between residents, public safety personnel and city leaders.

Bounce houses, touch-a-truck, free food, entertainment and giveaways from local businesses are planned for National Night Out. Visitors will also be able to meet police officers, check out squad cars and equipment and connect with local organizations.

The event will run from 4-8:30 p.m. A sensory hour, offering a quieter, more inclusive experience, will commence from 4-5 p.m.

"Whether you've been coming for years or it's your first time, we'd love to see you there," police said. "Bring the family, say hello, and help us celebrate what makes Plainfield such a great community."
