National Tattoo Day: Best Tattoo Shops In Will County

WILL COUNTY, IL — Monday is National Tattoo Day, "an informal holiday to recognize tattooing, tattoo culture and tattoo artists." To mark the occasion, here's a look at the best places to get a tattoo in Will County, according to reviewers on Yelp!

1. Boundless Tattoo Company, 16030 S, Lincoln Hwy, Plainfield. "Very clean spot with a great music playlist," wrote one Yelp!er. "I was extremely nervous to get my first tattoo, but my artist, Andy, was super friendly and knowledgeable. Andy made sure my tattoo was how I wanted and the right location," another said.

2. Flesh Gear, 1810 Moen Ave., Rockdale. "The facility is super clean and there are some amazing artists," according to one reviewer.

3. Elegant Henna Tattoos, 23835 Cahills Way, Plainfield. Specializing in organic and natural henna tattoos instead of permanent ink, one Yelp! review described the artist as "amazing and wonderfully sweet. She showed up early for the event, and worked 5 hours straight by doing the mendhi for over 20 girls, including a group of rowdy kids."

4. Wolf’s Fine Line Tattoos, 1117 Plainfield Road, Joliet."Not only is the shop clean but all the artists are very talented, not rude what-so-ever! I felt like I was around my friends and at home," one customer wrote, while another noted, "Great work and am in love with my tattoo. A little over priced for my liking but oh well everyone has to have a minimum. "

5. Westside Customs Tattoo Studio, 650 Ruby St. One customer wrote that he picked Westside after researching tattoo artists throughout the Chicago area: "So you may be thinking to yourself, 'Why would I drive an hour to Joliet to get a tattoo?' The answer is one word 'Chucho.' He is a prolific artist in his own (right) and an amazing tattoo artist in his spare time."
