PLAINFIELD, IL — A new carry-out restaurant soon to open in Plainfield doesn't just want to feed its customers, it wants to treat them like family.

Lado's Bar & Grill, owned and operated by the Lindsey family, is preparing to open its doors to customers Sept. 30 at 16108 S. Division St. in Plainfield.

The restaurant, serving barbecue, jerk and soul food, will be located inside Cucina Fresca Kitchen, an establishment that allows blossoming eateries and restaurateurs to operate within a shared kitchen as a way to help "lower stress, deliver on time and make more money," according to its website.

The family-owned restaurant was first established in 2021 and is becoming a reality for the Lindsey family at the end of September when Lado's will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

Lado's menu will vary by day. On Fridays, the menu is focused on barbecue with meal offerings including ribs, wings, sides and daily specials. Jamaican food — such as jerk chicken, colossal jerk shrimp and bowls — will be served Saturdays. Soul food, from catfish and fried chicken to a variety of sides, will be the focus of Sunday's menu.

"We never provide preserved meals because we care about our consumers," reads the restaurant's website. "All our meals are made from scratch every day, and we never use canned or frozen food. We don't just feed you; we treat you like family."

Besides carry-out, Lado's will also offer catering from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

For customers who can't make it to the Division Street spot to grab meals, Lado's will also be available for purchase on DoorDash and Uber Eats, according to owners.

"Please don't be surprised if we close before six because of our limited time and space," the Lindsey family told Patch in an email. "In the future, we want to open a full-service restaurant with a bar, but for now, this will suffice."

Lado’s will only accept card payments, not cash, owners said.
