New Coffee Shop Opens In Downtown Plainfield

Krema Coffee House opened Wednesday on Lockport Street.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A new coffee house has opened up shop in downtown Plainfield. Krema Coffee House, 24038 W. Lockport St., announced its "surprise" opening Wednesday morning. The business offers coffee, pastries, sandwiches and more. Owner Kacie Wadycki told Patch she first began making plans to open the shop three months ago.

"We turned it around pretty quickly," she said. Wadycki said Krema is supporting other local businesses, offering a house blend from Ten Drops Coffee, another Plainfield business, as well as local ingredients.

The menu features sandwiches, including a breakfast sandwich, salads and other grab-n-go lunch offerings, plus coffee, lattes and other brewed beverages.
