New Commissioner Inducted To Fill Plainfield Park District Board Vacancy

Nuhie Faheem will serve on the Plainfield Park District Board of Commissioners until her term expires in 2023.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Nuhie Faheem was formally inducted onto the Plainfield Park District Board of Commissioners at the regular meeting held September 14 at the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center in Plainfield.

Nuhie was appointed to the Board and fills the term of former commissioner Jason Rausch, who stepped down from the board in July after moving out of the district. The term expires in 2023.

Nuhie has worked at Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School since 2014, serving as a Spanish Teacher and the Spanish Department Head. She also is involved with a variety of different organizations and initiatives at Oak Lawn-Hometown including:

Since 2017, Nuhie has also served as a professional development trainer with the American Federation of Teachers Local 943. She was a contributing author to Science Advances Magazine (2018); and served as a professional development trainer for Illinois Computing Educators (2017). From 2013-2017, she was the director/head teacher for Saturday Place, Rachied Davis Charities, a remediation program for third and fourth graders from Chicago’s South Side.

Nuhie received her bachelor’s degree cum laude in elementary education from Loyola University Chicago. She received her master’s degree in instructional design and technology from the American College of Education (Ind.). She most recently earned her certificate in inclusive classroom teaching from University of La Verne (Calif.) and is currently pursuing her doctorate in leadership from the American College of Education (Ind.).

Nuhie resides in Plainfield with her family and enjoys reading and spending time outdoors.
