New Drauden Point Principal Makes The Move From Plainfield East
Current PEHS Assistant Principal Kai Freeman will take on a new role next year.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield East High School Assistant Principal Kai Freeman will serve as principal at Drauden Point Middle School next year.
Freeman will replace Pat Flynn, who resigned earlier this summer to pursue other opportunities.

He served from 2012-2013 as the Interim Assistant Athletic Director and the Athletic Director at Thornwood, then came to District 202 in 2013 as the Dean of Students at PEHS. Freeman has been in his current position since 2016.
“Mr. Freeman comes to Drauden Point with a wide variety of professional experiences,” said Jennifer Orlos, director for middle school administration and personnel.

“His instructional leadership and ability to build positive relationships within the community will serve him well as the new Principal at Drauden Point Middle School,” Orlos said.
Freeman said he is honored and excited about the opportunity lead Drauden Point. “I appreciate the confidence that Dr. Abrell and the District 202 School Board have in me,” he said
“There is so much excitement and anticipation with the thought of building new relationships within the school community,” Freeman said.
“As a team, we will continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students and faculty.”
