He served one year as Dean of Students at West Aurora High School before coming to District 202 in 2009.

“As an internal candidate, Mr. Draper showed throughout the search process that he has the confidence of the selection committees,” said District 202 Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lane Abrell.

“In his time at Plainfield North he has shown his strong communication skills, loyalty and hard work, which have allowed him to develop insights to the needs of the building, population, and community,” Abrell said. “We welcome Mr. Draper to our building principal team and look forward to his contributions.”

Draper thanked Abrell and the Board of Education for their decision.

“It has been a professional goal of mine to lead a building. I don’t think there is a better scenario to start as a principal than leading a building where I have been for the last seven years,” Draper said. ”I can’t say enough positive things about the amazing staff and students at North. I look forward to leading, supporting, and motivating them to reach their full potential,” he said.
