Agustin Villagomez

Agustin Villagomez, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 27, 2021, just after celebrating his 71st birthday. Agustin was born on November 24, 1950, the son of the late Jose Agustin and Estela (nee Haro) Villagomez. Born and raised in Mexico, he helped on the family farm before becoming a U.S. citizen at the age of 18. He was a gifted and talented carpenter with JRF Construction. Agustin enjoyed his hobbies of woodworking and building anything and everything. He was a faithful servant to God and spoke the Gospel to many and was an active member of Keystone Church of God and Joliet First Assembly Church in Joliet.

Agustin was a loving family man who always put the needs of his family first. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, he will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Agustin is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Leticia (nee Rivera) Villagomez; his children, Felipe (Carmela) Villagomez, Fabian Villagomez, Lillia (Felipe) Sancen, Jessica (Ivan Morales) Villagomez; and Jonathan Villagomez; his grandchildren, Eric, Jonathan, Andy, Jesus, Fatima, Fabian, Brandon, Lillia, Melisandra, and Kalel; great-grandchildren, Miguel and Prescila; and his siblings, Savino, Guadalupe, Imelda, and Nora. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral Services for Agustin Villagomez will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021, at the Joliet First Assembly Church, 1741 Essington Rd., Joliet, IL, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
