A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend passed away at the age of 77.

Alice Elizabeth Hray (nee Bowman)
Age 77, of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 26, 2026, at her home.

Alice was born on May 21, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, to Raymond and Anna (nee Collins) Bowman.
Alice is survived by her children, Lisa (John Pieranunzi) Pocius, Jon Paul Pocius, Sara (Sam Hulick) Pocius, and Renee (Mike) Buhrow; step-children, Kevin (Jennifer) Hray and Michele (Donald) Beck; grandchildren, Mia Hess, Sofia Pieranunzi, Johnny Pieranunzi, Sage Pocius, Audrey Pocius, Ethan Buhrow, Linnea Buhrow, Nathan Beck, Taylor Beck, Emma Hray, and Samantha Hray. Many siblings, nieces, nephews and dear friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Robert S. “Bob” Hray on March 28, 2026.
A Memorial Gathering for Alice Hray will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Per Alice’s request, cremation rites have been accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Alice’s name can be made to Global Sanctuary for Elephants, PO Box 2426, Brentwood, TN 37024.
