With profound sadness and overflowing love, we announce the passing of our beloved Angelina G. Niño. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and cherished friend. Surrounded by her loving children and family, Angelina entered into the Kingdom of Heaven at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy defined by kindness, strength, and selfless devotion.
Born on June 21, 1933, in San Antonio, Texas, Angelina witnessed a world that changed dramatically, yet she remained a steady, grounding presence - unwavering in her faith, her love for her family, and the values she held dear. She lived a life of tireless service and integrity, giving 110% to every role she took on: from helping raise her siblings, laboring farmland, to working in factories and caring for seniors. But her greatest calling was that of a wife and mother, a role she embraced wholeheartedly, choosing to stay home and raise her three children with fierce devotion and unconditional love.

Angelina lived her faith through action. She was a quiet pillar of strength, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was always there to offer help in any way that she could, no matter who or what was needed of her. Her love knew no bounds. She helped raise two of her grandchildren, Karissa and Kaine, with the same nurturing care she gave her own children. She stood steadfastly by her daughter’s side when she became ill, wanting to take the pain as her own, always caring and supportive. As a dedicated wife, she stood by her husband, Juan, with unshakable loyalty, attending to his care and comfort throughout their 58 years of marriage. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving them with a heart so big she would have given them the sun, the moon, and all the stars in the sky.
Her heart extended far beyond her immediate family. Deeply loved by all her siblings, their spouses, and her many nieces and nephews, from the oldest to the youngest, several of whom she held close with unwavering affection.
Angie also nurtured several deep and enduring friendships, each one a reflection of her generous spirit, gentle wisdom, and open heart.
She was a devoted pet mom. She found joy and companionship in her beloved Chihuahuas, who brought her light and laughter.
To all who offered prayers, support, and comfort during her final days, especially those who sat by her bedside, thank you. You were a light in a very dark time; we will always hold that close. Your presence will never be forgotten.
For everyone at Lightways Hospice, especially those who personally cared for her, your care and compassion were a blessing we will not forget; we are truly grateful.
Angelina was a beautiful soul who made the world a better place simply by being in it. She is deeply loved, and her absence leaves a void that no words can fill.
Angelina is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Juan A. Niño; her children, Juan M. (Tracci) Niño, Margarita "Maggie" (Ivan) Niño, and Miguel F. Niño; her grandchildren, Karissa, Kaine, Alexis, Santos, and Angelo; and her great-grandchildren, Avianna, Ariyah, Saint, Syer, Coi, Thorin, Remi, Nova, and Aurora.
She also leaves behind her six sisters, Alicia Zartuche, Adalia G. Hensley, Amparo L. Palade, Amelia (Robert) Bergfeld, Hena G. Cotton, and Elida G. Lerma (Ernie); and her two brothers, Salvador (Aida) Gutierrez and Alejandro (Gerlinde) Gutierrez.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Felipe J. and Casimira (Lopez) Gutierrez; her sisters, Anna M. Barajas and Olvido L. Gutierrez; and her brothers, Felipe L. Gutierrez Jr. and Adrian L. Gutierrez.
