
Ann Ardell (nee George) Taylor, 73, died Nov., 5, 2014, in Sheridan, Ill., surrounded by her loving family.
Born Feb. 16, 1941 at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet, Ill., Graduate of Plainfield High School, class of 1959, where she as honored to be chosen Homecoming Queen in October 1958.During High School, she worked at The Hat Drive Inn and Owen’s Café, both in Plainfield. She worked most of her adult life in various office jobs including Phoenix Manufacturing , Joliet; Hazel-Atlas Research Lab Division of Continental Can Company, Plainfield; Universal Die Casting, Saline, Mich.; Signet Manufacturing, Northwest Carton Company; Lockwood Dairy, Plainfield National Bank/First Midwest Bank, and Plainfield Stamping, all in Plainfield.
She modeled clothes from the former A.C. Steiner Shop in Plainfield, and also was a stewardess with United Airlines, Chicago.

She was a proud 6 gallon blood donor. She was honored for her volunteer service with the Plainfield bands where she helped manage uniforms and served as a chaperone on many band trips.
Ann also was honored by the PTSO for her service in the Plainfield School District, and as the inaugural Covenant Choir Member of the Year at Plymouth Congregational Church in Plainfield.

Preceded in death by her parents, Hester A. Hornback and Forrest D. George; and her brothers, Forrest R. “Dick” George and David L. George. She is survived by husband of 47 years Gerald W. Taylor; her daughter, Linda A. (Carla Holmes) Taylor; her son, LeRoy P., “Roy” (Michelle) Taylor; twin sister Ada B. (Vernon “Bunk”) Findlay; her grandchildren, Gerald W. and Mallory S. Taylor, and Emma and Ethan Holmes-Taylor; sisters-in-law, Judith A. George and Anna L. George and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ann loved her family and friends, her church, gardening, sewing, traveling and quilting. She lovingly quilted and gave away more than 140 baby quilts.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 11, 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Rts. 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral Services will be onWednesday, November 12, 10:30 AM at the funeral home with Reverend William Beagle, Pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Plainfield Township Cemetery.
