Anne was born December 11, 1939, to the late Eleanor (Ruddy) and Forrest Beach in Joliet, where she resided most of her life. She graduated with the Class of 1957 from Joliet Township High School. She graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in Joliet in 1960 and worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. The roles, however, that she most cherished were those of a mother, and later, a grandmother. After raising her children, Anne worked for over 20 years as a cafeteria server at several high schools in the Plainfield School District. To this day she would smile with pride running into students who would remember their favorite “Lunch Lady.”
Anne is the beloved wife of 63 years to Charles Schmitz; loving mother of Carolyn (Michael) Healy, Leslie (James) Weck, and Kristin (Mark) McGaffic; proud and devoted grandmother of Patrick (Dee) Healy, Sean Healy, and Jordan, Amelia, and Charlotte McGaffic. Also surviving are her brother, James Beach; and her sister-in-law, Sandy (the late Richard) Schmitz.
