Ardis lived for her family, and her first love was time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ardis R. Farmer Liccardi (nee Weese)

Ardis R. Liccardi, age 82, passed away peacefully Thursday, May 18, 2023 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Born in Joliet to the late Arthur and Rose Meyer, Ardis was a lifelong area resident. Ardis lived for her family, and her first love was time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She did however enjoy bowling and bingo in the free time she did have. She was also a huge Elvis Presley fan.

Ardis is survived by her children, son, Kenny Farmer, and daughters, Ardis Farmer, Antoinette Liccardi, and Melissa Lukas; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard and Bernard Meyer; sister, Linda Hainline; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Justin Farmer; her second husband, John Liccardi; her parents; sons, Arthur, James, Justin, and Larry Farmer; and sisters, Helen Barto, Mary Jane Kovak, Rose Schure; and brother, Arthur Weese.

Friends and family are invited to join in a celebration of Ardis’s life to take place on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black (at Essington) Rd., Joliet, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding with services at 1:00 p.m. As it was her favorite color, everyone is asked to wear some blue in their outfit. Cremation rites will be accorded following services, and Ardis’s earthly remains will be laid to rest next to family at Woodlawn Memorial Park II.
