Chris was born November 21, 1951, to the late Ida (Amoroso) and Peppino Alberico in San Vittorino, Caramanico, Italy. She emigrated to the United States with her family in 1957, settling in Pennsylvania for a few years before moving to Joliet, IL, in 1960. Chris attended Joliet grade schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School in 1970. She continued her education at Joliet Junior College, where she earned her CNA. Caring for those ailing was such a perfect role for Chris, she spent many years at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Chris also enjoyed a lengthy career as a beautician, offering refined coifs and friendly conversation covering a wide array of topics. She was an active member of the American Italian Cultural Society, the Associated Clubs of Will County, a former village of Minooka Trustee, former board member of the Bonita Vista HOA, and committee member of her high school class reunions. As of late, Chris enjoyed her time working at the Hive Kitchen in Channahon.

On June 19, 1971, she married Nicholas Egizio at the Church of St. Anthony in Joliet. They enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Nick passed in 2023.
Chris is the beloved mother of Julieann (Brian) Bell and Jennifer (Adam) Ciesielski; dearest grandmother of John “Jack”, Aidan, Brett, Alexandria, and Katelyn; fond sister of Anthony (Janice) and Frankie Alberico; and cherished aunt of several nieces and nephews.
In addition to Nick, she is also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Luciano Alberico and Johnny Alberico.
Proud of her Italian heritage, Chris loved fiercely and showed her affection by opening her home to so many. She and Nick loved hosting gatherings for family and friends, preparing home cooked meals, making sure you left full and usually with something for the next day(s). Decorating her home for the holidays and tending to her garden were also great pastimes for Chris. But her most favorite moments were spent being with her grandchildren.
The Egizio family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Chris' nurse Chyanne and all at Lightways Hospice for their excellent care and compassion as well as the family, great friends, and neighbors who were there to support Chris, and the many kind souls from Pink Heals who really made her feel so loved and supported.
Visitation for Chris will be Monday, May 26, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.
