Obituary: Cleo R. Brewster

Loving "Granny", a proud union member, a talented quilter, and an outdoor enthusiast has passed away at the age of 84.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Cleo R. Brewster, “Granny” passed away peacefully at the age of 84, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL, surrounded by the love of her family. Cleo was born in Brewstertown, TN on October 18th, 1940, the daughter of the late William and Julia (nee Kelly) Brewster. She was a graduate of Sunbright High School. Granny was a proud union member and retired in 2005 from Folger Adams where she worked as a Machinist. Cleo also enjoyed assisting families at H & R Block with their taxes for many many years. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

When she wasn’t quilting or crocheting, Granny loved to be outdoors tending to her garden, planting flowers or helping to beautify others yards as a “pulling weeds enthusiast”! She absolutely adored her numerous “buzzard” birds, and her adorable pups “Buster” and “Tiny”. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as they were the light of her life!

Cleo is survived by her son, Willie (Kristin) Boston; one brother, James Brewster; grandchildren, Thomas Boston, James (Melanie) Boston, Anthony Morris, Amy Renee Boston, Lynn (Chris) Milligan, Cody (Trista) Bolk, Chris (Lexi) Boston, Becca Knippenberg, and Malanie Boston; great-grandchildren, Raeanna Morris, Becky Morris, Nicholas “Bosco” Burek, Anthony J. Morris, Adalynn Boston, Raelynn Boston, Carter Morris, Kinsley Milligan, and Arlyn Boston; as well as numerous extended family, friends, and loved ones.

She is preceded by her husband, William “Bill” Lowe; her parents; son, Thomas R. Boston; and siblings, Frankie Brewster, Laura Belle, Sara Galloway, William “Junebug” Brewster, Marylee Evans, and Edward Brewster.

Visitation for Cleo R. Brewster will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at West-Murley Funeral Home, 18641 Alberta Street, Oneida, TN, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Graveside services will follow at Brewstertown Cemetery, Brewstertown, TN.
