Obituary: Daniel Nathan Barone

Joyful, kind, and clever, a longtime resident of Joliet passes away unexpectedly at the age of 62.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Daniel Nathan Barone

Daniel Nathan Barone, known for his quick wit and sweet demeanor, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 62, on April 27, 2024, at Advent Health Care in Zephyrhills, FL. Daniel was the son of the late Donald Dean and Bethel June (nee Campbell) Barone. He cherished his family and friends, finding joy in outdoor adventures, especially camping in Michigan and Florida. Daniel, a retired real estate professional, adored by all who knew him, will be deeply missed.

Survived by his devoted husband of 24 years, Jesus Palomino. Daniel leaves behind his son, Dan Anthony (fiancé Jill Murray) Barone; daughter, Alex (Tara) Barone; grandchildren, Taylor Zimmerman and Harper Ferrini; siblings, Deana Sulwer and Debra (Mark) Bork; father-in-law, Jesus A. Palomino; sisters-in-law, Stella (José) Paramo, Christina Paredez, and Silvia (Rory) Mulligan; brother-in-law, Mario (Lee Ann) Palomino; as well as the mother of his children, Gianna Barone. Also mourning his loss are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dawn Barone; and mother-in-law, Dora Palomino.

Visitation will be held on May 6, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet, IL, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with cremation rites to follow per Daniel's wishes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Lightways Hospice or the American Heart Association.
