Donald “D.J.” Seneker

Donald Seneker, age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Lightways Hospice facility in Joliet. Donald was born on September 9, 1933 in Joliet to the late Walter and Helen Seneker, and he was a lifetime area resident. Donald was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a natural born entertainer, and loved playing and singing country music for his fellow residents at the Joshua Arms.

Donald is survived by his children, Lorinda (David) Bowen, Renee (Richard) Almendariz, and Donnie Seneker; his grandchildren, Tara Bowen, David Bowen, Jr., Ashleah Almendariz, Amber (Jeffrey) Marron, Larissa (Robin) Niven, Justin Seneker, Emma Seneker, and Eli Seneker; and his great-grandchildren, Faith, Destiny, Chance, Ezra, Elliott, and Charlie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen; his brother, Walter Seneker; sister Jeannette Colafello; and his twin sister in childhood, Doris Seneker.

As it was Donald’s final wish, cremation rites have been accorded, and private family services have been held. Arrangements entrusted to the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, Joliet.
