Evelyn Dorothy Pagnusat, a lifelong resident of Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 97 years old. Evelyn was born on November 24, 1927, in Joliet to the late Jerry and Mary (nee Gregorash) Mutz, she spent her life rooted in the community she loved. Evelyn attended Joliet Township High School and later served in the cafeteria at Joliet East High School, where she worked for several years with dedication and a warm heart. She was a devoted member of Queen of Apostles Catholic Church and a former parishioner of St. Joseph Church.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Albert (Sally) Pagnusat, Sally (Michael) Rudy, Linda (Tom) Partin, and Joan (Raymond) Kelly; grandchildren Amanda Abrahamson, Anthony Pagnusat, Nicole (Joe) Sefton, Jennifer (Ryan) Lemberg, Kristin (Andy) Brower, Paul Rudy, Nicholas (Tabby) Parks, Jr., Jeremy (Ryan) Parks, Holly (Mark) Olson, Sheridan Kelly, and Christopher Kelly; and 14 great-grandchildren. Evelyn is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Ogary; sisters-in-law, Patricia Mutz and Fran Mutz; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and her dear friend, Mitzi Woodard.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert J. Pagnusat; her parents; two brothers, Jerry Mutz and Rick Mutz; sister, Fran Cepiel; and her sister-in-law, Mary Fuse.
Known for her loving, kind, and gentle nature, Evelyn cherished time spent with family, especially during holiday parties and get-togethers. She found great joy in shopping, gardening, and playing bingo. Her warmth and presence touched many lives and left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Rock Run Memory Care and Lightways Hospice for all the love and care they showed to Evelyn as well as the entire family.
Funeral Services for Evelyn Dorothy Pagnusat will be held at 9:15 a.m., on Friday, September 12, 2025, from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL to Queen of Apostle, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 2:00 to 7:00p.m.
