Age 78, of Joliet and formerly Summit, Illinois, was called to the presence of our Lord Thursday evening, August 29, 2024. He was born in Ocampo, Guanajuato Mexico October 12, 1945 to the late Maria de Los Angeles Pedroza and Pedro Jasso.
He moved to the United States at the age of 19 with his brother.

Lupe was a loving husband, father, Wello and devout Catholic. He was known for his generosity, all-around handyman and jack of all trades; always willing to find a solution for any problem that arose. He never passed up a Cubs game and was a huge Club Leon fan. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and loved to laugh.
Lupe is the beloved husband of 58 years to Gloria (Del Toro) Jasso; loving father of Jose Jr. (former daughter-in-law, Rosemarie Aguilar), Danny (Michelle), Hector (Rocio) Jasso and Chiquito. Also surviving are his 11 grandchildren, Jose III, Alyssa Marie (ojos de pulga); Kristina Michelle, Danielle Lynn (La Pill); Hector Jr, Santiago, Christian Alexander, Johnmichael Sebastian, Nicholas Connor “Fingers”, Daniel Christopher (Pitillo) and Aaron Patrick; great-grandchildren, Julianna Rose, Isan, Marcello Arsene, Amara Xochitil, Athena Lynn and Thalia Grace.
He is also survived by his brother and sisters, Jovita Salcedo (Miguel), Raul Jasso (Alicia), brother in law Jose Luis Nunez (Husband of late Emma), Maria de Jesus “Chirina”, Maria del Rosario “Chayo” (Augusto), Rebeca Cobian, Martha Salcedo (Roberto), Patricia Jasso and Alma Prado (Benjamin) along with many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Maria de Los Angeles Pedroza and Pedro Jasso, sister Maria de Los Angeles “Chacha”, nephew John Michael Boyle and brother-in-law Martin Garcia and Jesus Cobian.
A Memorial Visitation for Lupe Jasso will be Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet.
All friends and relatives are asked to gather on Friday, September 6, 2024, 10:45 a.m. at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, 129 S. Division St. (Rt. 59) in Plainfield where Lupe’s Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will take place at a later date.
