James Frederick Pfeiffer

James Frederick Pfeiffer, age 77, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on September 24, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Evelyn (Helwig) Pfeiffer.

James was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until enlisting in the United States Army where he served for three years. James and his devoted wife of 54 years, Rosanne, settled in Joliet after living in numerous states. He worked for CSX Railroad for over 30 years. In his free time, James loved watching the Chicago Bears, as long as the Green Bay Packers weren’t playing at the same time. He was also a member of the Wilmington VFW Post. He was a loving and proud dad and grandpa. He adored his cat and dog companions.

James is survived by his wife, Rosanne (nee Koehn) Pfeiffer; three sons, Marc (Chandra) Pfeiffer, Matthew Pfeiffer, and Timothy (Susan) Pfeiffer; and his grandchildren, Trever, Aschelyn, and Cameron.

He is preceded in death by his son Joshua Pfeiffer; his parents; his brother, Dave Pfeiffer; and his sister Harriet Buchman.

Services will be held privately by family, as it was his request, cremation rights will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the Wilmington VFW Post 5422, 557 W Baltimore St, Wilmington, IL 60481.
