J. Jesus Guzman Reyes, age 56, of Rockdale, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family who was always by his side.

Born April 14, 1968, in El Derramadero, Guanajuato Mexico, he was the son of the Gabriel and Ubertina (Reyes) Guzman.
Jesus was a man with a pure heart who always had a smile on his face. He truly cared about everyone he had the chance to meet. We know this to be true because he never forgot a name of anyone he had the chance to meet and would happily recall a conversation he had with a friend or extended family member. of their milestones and accomplishments. He loved listening to music, making jokes, and baseball hats. He loved his eight siblings with his whole heart and would enjoy making them laugh, calling them to check on them and spending time with them at get togethers. His favorite drinks Mountain Dew and Coke or a treat from La Michoacana were always a sure way to make his day!
Life presented Jesus with numerous health issues which he always handled with grace, never complaining and never lost his signature smile. He’s been the bravest of our family always taking on a challenge without complaint. He takes with him a piece of everyone’s heart and leaves us behind having know what pure unconditional love was.
Surviving are his parents, Gabriel and Ubertina of Rockdale; his brothers and sisters, Teodola, Juan (Lourdes), Maria Elena, Lupe, Ignacio (Teresa), Salvador (Lizette), Manuel (Ana), and Agustin (Melissa); and his nieces and nephews, Erika, Christina, Noe, Roman, Juan Felipe, Jose, Diego, Adrian, Manny, Sebastian, Isabella, Alondra, and Great Niece and Nephews; Dario, Evangelina, and Santiago.
Visitation for Jesus will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., from the funeral home, to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson Street, Joliet, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
