Louise L. Parthun
Louise L. Parthun, age 102, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet. Louise was born in Joliet, IL, on July 3, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Mary (nee Darin) DePodesta, and was a lifelong resident. She was formerly employed in the office at Block and Kuhl Company.

Louise was a member of the Cantigny VFW Auxiliary, and a lifelong volunteer of the fish fry. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and making porcelain dolls.
Louise is survived by her children, James (Ruby) Parthun, Mary Larsen (Richard-deceased), Joan (Daniel) Louis, and Joseph (Peggy) Parthun; grandchildren, James (Kerri) Parthun, Daniel (Karissa) Parthun, Jason (Jessica) Parthun, Eric (Jessica Robertson) Larsen, Erik Louis, and Nicole Louis; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Parthun, Ruth Parthun, Hannah Parthun, Alexis Parthun, Robert Parthun, and River Robertson-Larsen. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence J. Parthun in 2000; brothers, Joseph (Francis) DePodesta, and Joseph (Sophia) Darin; sisters, Ann (Lawrence) Ammenhouser, and Lucille (Lester) Guard; sister-in-law, Geraldine Wagner; and brother-in-law, Gelbert (Helen) Parthun.
Visitation for Louise L. Parthun will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 404 North Hickory Street, Joliet, Illinois, followed a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice would be appreciated.
